Why do these game trailers are so fu**-ing epic? It almost made me forget the guilty for being so vulnerable to the media and publicity...
I'm sold... well, at least ME deserves it.
I tell you, I'm not a hardcore gamer.
But I admit that there are some exceptional, odd ocassions that some games make my inner nerd go wild, dig and hide in a hole, say goodbye to my girlfriend and family, and play them for weeks without stopping...
Haha, not really, I'm just curious about your fav games ; D.
Here are mine,with description and everything xD :
5.-Halo-
Classic XBOX Sci-Fi FPS. Master Chief saving the galaxy. One of the best Online Multiplayer game for console. Who doesn't know it?.
4.-The Legend of Zelda
Classic Nintendo Adventure/RPG game. Link ,who is destined to save princess Zelda for all eternity. Who doesn't know it?
3.- Mass Effect
Epic Sci-Fi Action-RPG game. Commander Sheppard saving the galaxy. Girls, Sheppard can be male or female, so there's no discrimination xD . If you like RPGs and are looking for something different than the usual FinalFantasy/DragonQuest/WoW etc etc you should try ME1 and ME2. Other RPGs look like babies when playing this one. IMO only RPGs to be at its level are the ones created by the same company. Dragon Age and StarWars KotoR. But Mass Effect is my fav. : P
2.-Metroid
Classic Nintendo game, both the Platform/Exploring and the FPS/Adventure genres fit this game. Back in the good old days, people knew about Metroid because it was an awesome game. Now they know about Metroid thanks to all those fanarts of it's protagonist with few clothes.
Really, Samus Aran has more to offer than thousands of pics of her wearing that tight Zero Suit... >_> Yeah, she is sexy and all, but she also is pretty badass.
1.-Half-Life.
FPS/Adventure
My first PC game ever back in 98, and never played it until 3 years after I got it. What I missed in those 3 years... Gordon Freeman saving the earth. My fav, no doubt.
Half-Life 3 is my most anticipated game of all time.
Honorific mention to Bioshock and Pokemon... wait, in fact, the whole concept of Pokemon is on it's own level , can't say if higher or lower.
As you can see I have a thing for Sci Fi themes, (... even more nerdy xD)

Just a few top games, not in a best of list since that depends on what I feel like at the time.
1. Diablo 2, still playing it now.
2. Halo series.
3. Half life
4. System shock 1 and 2, great grandaddies of bioshock.
5. GTA 4, got an xbox 3 or 4 year ago and that was my first game.
Honorable mentions
1. Deus Ex
2. Syndicate -the original, being able to "persuade" ordinary citizens and then if you have enough people, cops, made this game a must play for me.
Get enough cops and people and you could even get enemy agents.
3. Hostile waters- Anteaus rising- One of the earliest games that allowed players to be the commander in the field.
4. Marathon - Marathon 1 had stupid puzzles but 2 got it right. Its a mac game though.
5. Doom2 - Put deathmatch on the map.
6. Quake 3 arena/Unreal tournament -Only games I could run on all of my computers and play well on a network.
7. Transport tycoon, one half hour turns into 8 or more. Win 7 messes with it when the background changes. There is one scenario that has a block of land surrounded by water, make enough money and you can pull land up from the water and the city will expand into the new space.
I think Half life 2 is better than 1, halfway through Half life 1 became a jumpfest, you were jumping on everything. I hate games that rely on "Jump or Die" mechanics
But if you asked me again tomorrow that list could totally be different.
1. Metroid. If I had to choose which is the best I would be torn between Super and Fusion.
2. Mass Effect. Loved the first game to death. Playing the second one at the moment. Talk about addicted.
3. Halo. Sorry to see Bungie leave the series but I look forward to another game.
4. Monster Hunter Tri
5. Bioshock
Honourable mentions to Gears of War and Dead Space
And I haven't played Monster Hunter and Dead Space.
Gears of War is great too.
Oh and as for Zelda I have only played Twilight Princess. Quite ashamed I haven't played the 64 titles. Looking forward to skyward sword though
If your as big a sci fi nerd as me than I highly recommend Dead Space. Make sure you have a strong heart though because it's very scary
